The Princeton Theater, located in West Virginia, is a historic building that has long been a fixture in the town. Last renovated in the 70's, the theater had fallen into disuse.
Design for the Princeton theater addressed the historical aspects and attempted to preserve those features, providing only repair and refinishing as needed. Moderate layout modifications to the first floor were proposed, in order to provide a gallery on the lower level to display aspects of the theater's rich history, as well as adequate fire separation from offices on the second floor which would be rented out. New seating layouts were provided, as well as finishes, and a new ceiling layout was proposed which was designed to provide good acoustics while also revealing the structural grid of the historic building.
